When can you find out the baby's sex?
A baby's genetic sex is set at fertilization, but the external genital organs take time to become visible on ultrasound. In many pregnancies, it can be seen more reliably around 14 to 16 weeks.
The baby's position, the mother's body type, and ultrasound quality can affect accuracy. Early guesses can therefore be wrong.
