Early pregnancy
What is an ectopic pregnancy?
An ectopic pregnancy happens when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, most often in a fallopian tube. It cannot develop normally and can cause the tube to rupture as it grows.
One-sided pelvic pain, bleeding, shoulder pain, faintness, or severe abdominal pain needs urgent evaluation. Early diagnosis may allow medication treatment, while later cases may require surgery.
