Frequent urination is common in pregnancy because kidney filtration increases and the growing uterus presses on the bladder. It can start in the first trimester and often becomes noticeable again near the end of pregnancy.

Burning with urination, fever, foul-smelling urine, back pain, or blood in the urine can suggest a urinary tract infection. Contact your clinician if these symptoms appear.
